Getting Started

If this is your first experience with acupuncture, please let us know—ask any questions and share your concerns. We’re here to support you at every step in your treatment journey.

The First Visit

Your initial consultation will take about an hour and a half. We’ll spend the first part getting to know you and your needs and concerns. Then we’ll develop your personalized plan—possibly including needling, Chinese herbs, and/or other modalities like cupping to address your overall wellness goals.

When you’re ready, we’ll insert tiny acupuncture “needles” in prescribed areas then have you rest for up an hour in a reclined position.

Before Your Appointment

Prior to your appointment, please download and complete your pre-treatment form; you can submit it via email or bring it with you. Please give us a call if you have questions or would like more information before your visit.

Come to your appointment in loose fitting clothes that allow access to your arms and legs. If you are sensitive to noise or light feel free to bring earplugs, headphones and your own music, and an eye mask.

The Treatment Trajectory

Because everyone’s different, the number of sessions required for resolution varies widely. For acute conditions, a few treatments usually provide complete healing. Chronic and more complex problems may need one or two treatments per week initially, followed by follow-ups in the coming months, and maintenance throughout the year.
